Your privacy, plainly

Norma Jean taught us that trust is earned by how you treat people when they're not looking. Here's exactly what information this shop collects, why, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect. When you shop with us, we collect what's needed to serve you: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number if you provide it, and your order details. Our website also automatically collects some technical information — IP address, browser type, and how you move through the site — via cookies. If you sign up for Notes from Norma, we keep your email and your subscription preferences.

What we use it for. Fulfilling and shipping your orders, sending order confirmations and tracking, answering your messages, sending our monthly letter only if you signed up for it, improving the shop, and preventing fraud. That's the list.

What we will never do. We will never sell your personal information. We will never share it with anyone except the services that make the shop run.

Who we share it with (because we have to, to function). Our store runs on Shopify, which stores your data on our behalf — you can read how Shopify handles it at shopify.com/legal/privacy. Payment information goes directly to our payment processors ([Shopify Payments / PayPal / etc.]) — we never see or store your full card number. Shipping carriers receive your name and address to deliver your package. Our email service sends the newsletter. Each of these partners is bound by their own privacy obligations.

Cookies. Like nearly every online shop, we use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site [including analytics tools such as: Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through the cookie preferences banner on our site.

Your rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of marketing at any time (every email has an unsubscribe link, no hard feelings, no hoops). To exercise any of these rights, contact us — a real person will respond within 2 business days.

How long we keep things. Order records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe.

Children. Our shop is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes. If we update this policy, we'll change the date below and, for meaningful changes, note it in our newsletter.
